Security / Surveillance Systems Not so long ago, school security was seldom discussed publicly. Now, as parents and community leaders demand schools tighten security, school security and surveillance systems are becoming widespread. This equipment includes video and audio systems, alarms, entry control technology, emergency response systems, electronic badges and parking lot control systems. "Smart card" entry systems can cost $500 per door to install and require card production, computers, printers and scanning equipment.
