Refrigeration Systems

With schools providing lunches and other food service, the refrigeration system is critical to operations. Compressors and motors are among the equipment most apt to break down. Walk-in refrigeration and freezer units are necessary to maintain the quality of foods and the larger units can cost more than $10,000. Icemakers, beverage coolers and other equipment can also be found in school kitchens and cafeterias. Breakdowns can lead to business interruption losses and spoilage losses that exceed equipment damage. Should the refrigerant leak, it can pose the additional risk of food contamination.
