Heating Boiler / Storage Water Heater Comfort heat is usually supplied by heating boilers; hot water (required by law for continued operation of the restaurant) is most often supplied by large water heater systems. Breakdown of heating equipment during a cold spell can interrupt operations and result in a business income loss that can easily exceed the property damage loss. It could also result in frozen pipes, which tend to burst, then leak when they thaw. Due to health laws, breakdown of the ware-washing (dishwashers) and hot water equipment will result in shutdown of the restaurant.
