Whether it's production machinery, computer-controlled equipment, electrical systems, boilers, air conditioning, refrigeration or other systems -- equipment is the lifeline for any manufacturing operation. Reliance on new sensitive technologies and electronic equipment has increased risk from power surges and other electrical disturbances. Repair or replacement can be extremely costly and, in many cases, lead to a business interruption and income loss. Breakdown of mission critical equipment may also result in the need to rent temporary equipment to sustain operations or require incurring additional expense to expedite the fabrication or shipping of parts needed to reduce the period of interruption.
