HSB Chairman Richard Booth and HSB were recognized for exemplifying CPCU Excellence by being advocates for insurance education and for providing ongoing support of the Connecticut Chapter of the CPCU Society. In presenting the award to Richard, HSB employee Noreen Kuziak, CPCU, cited the many reasons the recognition was well deserved.

HSB’s corporate policy encourages employees to pursue the designation by reimbursing them for books, exams, and classes. "Without that, few would be finishing the designation. This type of insurance education is good for the company as well as for the individual," Noreen said. In addition, HSB rewards employees for passing each exam, which includes a premium award for completion of the designation.

"The CPCU is one of only two designations that get this premium award. That tells me how important the CPCU is to the organization," according to Noreen.

Noreen also noted that Richard took the time to meet with the president of the National Society, Millie Workman, who later said that out of all of the visits she had with industry leaders, Richard was the only one to ask, “What can I do for the Society?”
