Loren P. Shoemaker Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company | Loren P. Shoemaker is senior vice president at The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company and chief operating officer of the Custom Accounts division. He joined the company in April 2007 as senior vice president of distribution management and assumed his current position in October 2007.
Previously Mr. Shoemaker was vice president - distribution management for The Travelers Companies, Inc.
Over the past 40 years, Mr. Shoemaker has had extensive experience in the property casualty insurance industry, particularly in the agent and broker distribution system. With a wide background in commercial and personal lines underwriting, Mr. Shoemaker has led agency management functions at the field and home office levels of Continental Insurance, CNA and Travelers Insurance.
A strong supporter of insurance industry associations, Mr. Shoemaker has served on numerous boards and task forces. In the Hartford area, he is active in the InVEST High School and Capital Community College education program. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Shoemaker holds a bachelor of arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College.
