Employees Reach Out

HSB employees also “give back” to the community through volunteering for charities. Many employees participate in the United Way’s “Day of Caring.”  HSB employees also volunteer for many other charities, such as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Riverfront Recapture, Our Piece of the Pie, and in the school reading program “Everybody Wins!”  The company encourages volunteerism by granting employees paid time off for volunteer activities.

In addition, nearly five percent of employees serve on boards of directors of nonprofit organizations. Over the years, HSB employees have served on boards of such organizations as:
